Ibn-e-Sina hospital was built in 1980 in a land of 131088 square meters. Its first name was Central Psychiatry Center in Ahmadabad Ave., Mashhad. It was changed to Razi Hospital in Ferdosi Square, Mashhad.

During these years, Dr. Hejazi hospital was initiated in 1949 by Dr. Hejazi. The purpose of establishing this hospital supported by public help was to care for psychiatric patients who could not afford the expenditure of their treatment.

In 1988, Razi hospital moved to its present location. The name was changed to Ibn-e Sina Psychiatry Educational Hospital.

This hospital was donated to Mashhad Medical University. Shafa Psychiatry Center was cancelled 2000 and patients were transffered to Ibn-e Sina hospital.

Ibn-e-Sina and Dr. Hejazi educational hospitalsis the biggest place for psychiatry patients in the state of Khorasan (Razavi, south and north)as well as the eastern part of the country.
